5 THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN TRAVELING ON AN INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT WITH LONG TRANSIT. DETAILED POST!!

Welcome back to my blog lovelies, if this is your first time here you’re welcome and I hope you stay… please feel free to go through my previous blog posts I’m sure you’ll find something interesting.

It’s holiday season and so many people love traveling to different places to spend their holidays either with their loved ones or new people.

So today’s post is a very detailed one, I’ll try to make it short I promise lol. I’ll be giving tips on things to consider when traveling on an international flight with a long transit. My journey in total took 3 days because of my location and the destination I was heading to.

Below are 5 things you need to consider

1.BE AWARE OF HOW LONG YOUR TRANSIT WILL BE. This is very important because you need to psychologically prepare your mind, trust me the stress is worth preparing for especially if you’re traveling alone. It’s always safe to be ready and meet something positive than the reverse, in my case my transit was for 18 hours and Lord knows it took me about 2 weeks to psychologically and emotionally let it sink!!

2.SORT OUT EVERYTHING YOU’LL NEED FOR THE JOURNEY.

Here’s a very necessary step to take when traveling, I started parking 3 weeks to my travel date and that’s because I had some accommodation hiccups. I’ll advise to start packing at least a week to your travel date so you don’t get to forget anything you’ll need, although sometimes I still forget one or two things. One thing I do is to make a list of items I need to take along, I do one final checking a night or two before I travel and it has been really helpful.

3. MAKE NECESSARY FINDINGS ABOUT THE AIRLINE YOU’RE TRAVELING WITH.

A lot of people take this for granted and just assume all airlines have the same traveling criteria’s . What are the necessary things to find out about?? Amount of kilograms you’re entitled to, provision of accommodation during transit, provision of feeding during transit, tours you’re entitled to during transit and many more… I traveled with Turkish airline and my transit was for 18 hours so I was entitled to 3 meals (every 5 hours). Meals are only given to customers with more than 6 hours transit. There was a resting room where people could sleep for as long as they want, the room was cold and quiet but I didn’t stay there because there was no source of WiFi lol. Customers with more than 11 hours transit are allowed to go on a tour round Istanbul but they must have either a Shenzhen visa or a Uk visa or an American passport or visa. I had my breakfast at freshly baked, lunch at Popeyes and my dinner at sbarro. I’ll insert pictures below to explain more.

4. TRY TO HAVE MONEY ON YOU

This might not be as important as you think but trust me it’s very necessary, I used money to buy ice cream to gain full access to unlimited 24 hours WiFi and I also had to buy a new charger ( I forgot mine). For people that love shopping money is very very essential lol.

5. CARRY FEW HAND LUGGAGES

Try as much as possible to always travel light especially when on transit!!! It’s going to make the journey less stressful. Another very important thing is to travel comfortable, I wore this two piece because it was very free, not too tick neither was it too thin… I’m forever comfortable on sneakers so I had to wear one. The waist bag contained my passport, tickets , earphones, charger and my phone (essential handy items).

There are a lot to consider but I believe if you follow the tips above you’ll definitely have a stress free journey. Please feel free to drop some tips that have been helpful to you in the comment section below.

Till my next blog post remain FABULOUS!!!
